# Nate Glasby

I'm a British-South African high-school student, based in South Africa, who likes building things with code. Mostly that means wiring up my home, running my own small servers, and seeing what AI tools can do when you give them a real job.

## Code I've shipped

Android apps I built to fix small annoyances in my own life. All open source on GitHub.

### AirPods Overlay (Android TV, Kotlin)

AirPods don't get Apple's connection popup on Android TV, so I made one. It spots the AirPods wake signal over Bluetooth and shows a small prompt over whatever you're watching. Press OK on the remote to connect. Battery levels and noise control modes are in progress.

### DrivePlay Keeper (Android Auto, Kotlin)

My car pauses Spotify every time the engine starts, even though Android Auto never disconnects. This app notices that one unwanted pause and presses Play again, while leaving your own pauses alone and staying quiet if another phone takes over the car.

### TV RingLight (Android TV, Kotlin)

A soft glowing ring around the edges of the TV screen, like a ringlight, for better photos at night without stopping what's playing. Eight colours, four brightness levels, an auto-off timer, and remote shortcuts through Button Mapper.

## Things I've wired up

### A smart home I host myself

My home runs on a self-hosted Home Assistant install. nginx sits in front of it as a reverse proxy, and Cloudflare handles the way in from outside, so I can reach it from anywhere without opening my network up directly.

Path: My phone > Cloudflare > nginx > Home Assistant

### AI that can use my laptop

An AI agent can control my Windows laptop remotely over MCP. Cua Driver does the actual clicking and typing, Supergateway makes it reachable as an MCP server, and a Cloudflare tunnel carries the connection. Nothing gets through without the key.

Path: AI agent > Cloudflare tunnel > Supergateway > Cua Driver > Windows laptop

### glasby.me

My own domain. I registered it, run its DNS through Cloudflare and set up Google Workspace on it, so nate@glasby.me is a real inbox that I check.

Path: glasby.me > Cloudflare DNS > Google Workspace > nate@glasby.me
